Renovated under the "Development of tourist infrastructure of KRNAP and KPN" project, co-financed by the European Union, by the European Regional Development Fund under the Cross-border Czech Republic-Poland Cooperation Program 2007-2013 the building was entirely modernized basing on its original architecture. One of the nowadays building function is to preserve and make available to visitors the idea of a traditional regional construction. KNP KARPACZ INFORMATION CENTER features large room presenting the values of the Giant Mountains - their landscapes, geology and geomorphology along with the history of mineral and gold exploration in the region. You can admire the panorama of the most beautiful sights of our mountains with the characteristic forms of the eastern Karkonose region. Thanks to the three-dimensional diorama model, one can watch animations that tell how did the geological structures come to be, and see the minerals in reality. Next to the main building, there is a small workshop, a tiny-museum where tourists using certain tools, can study herbs and minerals in close up.

"Laborant’s hut"

We have already mentioned the story about famous herbalists living and working in Karkonosze region. Although their fame and high esteem gave them no reason to cease their otherwise important work, the late story of their “career” is not a cheerful one. One way or another – they do remain an outstanding symbol of our region – and a Laborant’s house – present in this very place – may give you a glimpse – of what their life and work looked like indeed…

Organized groups are kindly welcome – after the previous appointment.
